Abilene Inside Connection, a student-produced television show focusing on the Abilene community, won second place for best documentary and public affairs broadcast from the Association of Christian Collegiate Media.
Carlos Hundley, graduate student in divinity from Valdosta, Ga., and Toby Burge, senior electronic media major from St. Louis, serve as hosts for the show, which is produced by KUF-TV7, the ACU television studio. The show airs every Thursday on Channel 7.
"The purpose of Abilene Inside Connection was to create an interview-based program to interview people who make a positive difference in the Abilene community," said J.R. Kessler, instructor of journalism and mass communication and faculty advisor of KUF-TV7.
Andy Myers, senior electronic media major from Mesquite and Walter Wiggins, senior electronic media major from Abilene, produce the show.
"KUF-TV7 is a college TV station, so we're looking for ways to give our students realistic experience in a TV environment. This is a real program; we're actually airing it, and are proud of our students and the results," Kessler said.
