Abilene Christian University's Department of Music will present its annual operas March 30-31 in Cullen Auditorium at 7 p.m.

Two operas will be performed each night: Gianni Schicchi by Puccini and Signor Deluso by Pasaiere.

Gianni Schicchi satirically addresses the subject of greed when a family inherits money from a relative.

Signor Deluso is based on a 17th century play and explores the consequences of jumping to conclusions.

This is the fifth year for the Department of Music to conduct operas separately from the Abilene Collegiate Opera, but the department has performed annual operas for about 50 years.

Tickets for the opera cost $8 for adults, $5 for students and $6 for senior citizens and can be obtained at 674-2199.
