ACU claims 13 Addy honors

Entries from the Office of Marketing and Public Relations at Abilene Christian University were recognized 13 times at the Abilene Ad Club's annual Addy Awards held Feb. 10. The Abilene Ad Club is affiliated with the American Advertising Federation, an association of professionals in advertising, printing, public relations, radio and TV industries.

ACU entries won four Addy Awards and nine Citations of Excellence for work produced during 2000. The university has won 194 AAF awards since 1984, including 65 Addys and four Best of Show.

Addys were awarded to four entries:

  • "Texas Sports Dynasty of the Year Video" (video, audio, film or computer sales presentations);
  • "GST Viewbook" (four-color brochures);
  • "ACU Today Magazine" (business-to-consumer direct marketing campaigns) and
  • "Change the World" (local business-to-business mixed media campaigns).

A Citation of Excellence was awarded to the following entries:

  • "Homecoming Mailer" (less than four-color brochures),
  • "Your Future Brochure" (four-color brochures),
  • "First Year Program" (Web site),
  • "Sing Song Photo" by local freelancer Gerald Ewing (color photography) and
  • "Theatre Season Ticket Mailer" (advertising for the arts).

"Change the World," ACU's integrated marketing campaign, earned a Citation of Excellence in four other magazine and newspaper advertising categories.
