Talena Mara, renowned soprano and 1985 ACU graduate, will speak and sing at the annual Women for Abilene Christian University dinner Tuesday, Feb. 20, at 5 p.m. in the Teague Special Events Center.

The theme for the WACU dinner is "Music of the Heart," and Mara will play a pivotal role in developing that theme. Currently, Mara lives in New York City where she works with both the Manhattan School of Music and the Juilliard School.

Also at the dinner, WACU scholarship recipients will be recognized.

The public is invited to the dinner. Tickets cost $7 and are available at Abilene Education Supply, 1658 Campus Court; and on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday they will be available in the ticket window at ACU's McGlothlin Campus Center.

"We want people who are like minded and dedicated to the Lord to have a meaningful time together," said Peggy Teague, event coordinator.
