Students at Abilene Christian University are preparing to entertain thousands of alumni, students, friends and the Abilene community at Sing Song 2001 Feb. 15-17.
Four performances are slated for the three days, with a focus on time travel and a journey through history. One new element this year is the addition of a Thursday night performance.
Thursday and Friday performances (Feb. 15 and 16) will start at 8 p.m. Two performances are scheduled for Saturday (Feb. 17), one at 2 p.m. and the other at 8 p.m. All performances will be in Moody Coliseum on the ACU campus.
Tickets are available by calling 674-2648 or going to the ticket window in Moody Coliseum between 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
This annual event involves almost 2,000 students and faculty and will feature seven hosts and hostesses. They will perform a variety of songs chosen from past decades to relate to the theme "Odyssey."
Along with the host and hostess performances, clubs and classes will compete in an entertaining group competition, emphasizing competitive categories such as vocals, presentation and originality.
Some of the groups will represent themes including Samurai warriors, aliens, cowgirls, Greek philosophers and barbers.
