Students return to ACU for 2001 spring semester; plans come together for major events on campus

Abilene Christian University set a new record enroll in the fall, and indicators show a strong spring enrollment should follow suit. Official 12-day numbers will be available Jan. 23.
Along with students back on campus, ACU is gearing up for several activities designed to bring a great number of visitors to Abilene and the ACU campus.
Stream Abilene, a spiritual renewal weekend for college students and high school seniors, will take place on campus Jan. 26-28 with participants coming from across the southwest.
Marriage and Family Week will take place Jan. 29 through Feb. 2 with Dennis and Emily Lowe of Pepperdine University being the featured presentors. The week is designed for church leaders, counselors, marriage and family therapists, engaged and married coupled.
Poet Li-Young Lee will be on campus Thursday, Feb. 15, to present a live poetry reading and booksigning open to the public. His second book of poetry, "The City in Which I Love You," was the 1990 Lamont Poetry Selection of The American Academy of Poets. He also won a Lannan Foundation Literary Award in 1995.
