Abilene Christian University students submitted six entries in the regional National Broadcasting Society conference and took home three awards.

This year's winners are:

  • Ellen Reese, first place, "On the Ball", sports feature segment
  • Carlos Hundley, first place, "Abilene Inside Connection," community affairs programming
  • Joe Walker, second place, promotional video script

This is the second year ACU has been eligible to compete in the regional competition. The ACU chapter of NBS started in 1998, but NBS requires a one-year probationary period before new chapters are allowed to compete.

At last year's regional competition, Walker won an award for "On the Ball" and two other ACU students placed in the top three. Andy Myers, senior electronic media major from Mesquite, placed in the top three in last year's national competition in the experimental category.
