ACU student from Garland elected Homecoming Queen

Yvette Canto of Garland, one of 14 women elected to Abilene Christian University's 2000 Homecoming court, was named Homecoming Queen.

She is a senior speech pathology and Spanish major and is the daughter of Mary Martell and Ted Cantu Jr.

While at ACU, she has served as president of Delta Theta women's social club and on the Homecoming Steering Committee. She has participated in Freshmen Follies, Sing Song, the Center for Building Community and Spring Break Campaigns.

About 150 miles west of the Dallas/Fort Worth area, ACU is affiliated with the churches of Christ and has an enrollment of 4,700 students.
