
ACU'S Lectures on Preaching to be held Thursday
For Immediate Release Sept. 15, 2000 Contact: Tom Craig, Director of Media and Community Relations Abilene Christian Universitys Bible department will serve as host for the Lectures on Preaching on the ACU campus. The lectures start Thursday, Sept. 21. Speakers will include Dr. Tony Ash, professor of Bible at ACU; Dr. Mark Love, adjunct instructor at ACU and Cascade College in Portland, Ore.; and Jeff Berryman, multi-talented Christian professional theatre artist from Seattle. Some topics that will be discussed are "How do you make a sermon?," "The Gospel-Driven Sermon," "Sermons I Wish I Hadn't Preached," "Leaving Ruin: Wrestling the Silence of God," and "What to Say When the Gospel Happens Among You." A tribute luncheon honoring ACU graduates J. Harold Thomas and Nokomis Yeldell Sr., for their impact as preachers will be held Thursday, Sept. 21, in the McGlothlin Campus Center Hilton Room. Admission is free and everyone is invited, but reservations must be made in advance.
