Free snowcones, a free movie, sand volleyball and flag football will be highlights of Abilene Christian University's 14th annual Beach Bash on Saturday, Sept. 2.
This popular event is sponsored by the Campus Entertainment committee of the Students' Association. All ACU students are invited.
"We want this to be a time for students to get rid of the stress of the beginning of school and just have a day of fun with their friends," said Scott Kilmer, a member of the Campus Entertainment committee.
Activities and refreshments include free Cajun Cones and a showing of the movie "Back to the Future" at 9 p.m. on a big screen in Beauchamp Amphitheatre on the ACU campus.
The intramural sports this year are sand volleyball and flag football. Sand volleyball will be played on the ACU intramural fields, and flag football is scheduled at nearby Taylor Elementary School.
The championship flag football game will be played at ACU's Elmer Gray Stadium for the first time. The intramural brackets will be posted on the intramural board in the concourse of Moody Coliseum.
