The National Board of Women for Abilene Christian University will host the second annual "Senior Send-off" on Thursday, April 27, to honor the women graduating from ACU in May, August and December.
The casual come-and-go reception is scheduled from noon to 6 p.m. at the Jennings House Museum, and the seniors will have the opportunity to visit with current WACU members, to learn more about WACU and secure professional contacts in areas where they plan to settle.
Each graduating senior will receive a complimentary year's membership to WACU and a directory of WACU members, while the graduates attending the send-off also will receive a special gift.
Current members will be on hand to help them make career connections, to share their wisdom on life and families, and to encourage future involvement with WACU.
WACU is an organization of women interested in Christian education. They fund scholarships and campus improvements at ACU by a variety of projects, while building unity and friendships among the members scattered throughout the world.
There are about 465 members in eight chapters in Texas, plus over 300 members-at-large in two foreign countries and 21 states. Membership is not limited to alumnae of ACU but is open to any woman seeking to support and encourage ACU.
