Ag club to host national DTA convention

Thursday through Saturday, April 6-8, Abilene Christian Universitie's Delta Tau Alpha Chapter and Aggie Club will host the National DTA Convention.
Approximately 150 college students across the Southern, Southeastern and Midwest regions of the United States will attend. DTA is an agricultural honor society.
Students who are inducted into the honor society possess academic excellence as well as outstanding leadership and character.
Special events throughout the convention will be the Ag-Olympics Thursday evening at the Outdoor Covered Arena at the Taylor County fairgrounds, a private movie showing at the historic Paramount Theatre, and the banquet on Friday evening. Guest speaker will be U.S. Congressman Charles Stenholm.
Business sessions will conclude by Saturday afternoon.
Dr. Foy Mills, associate professor of agribusiness is the national DTA advisor. Michelle Baldwin, senior agribusiness major from Thornton, is the national parliamentarian in the DTA organization. Michael Mays, senior animal science major from Brady, is the local chapter president at ACU.
