Au Sable representative to speak on environmental stewardship

On March 24 Dr. David Mahan of the Au Sable Institute will speak to Abilene Christian University students, faculty and staff, on environmental stewardship.
Mahan, the associate director of Au Sable Institute, a college-level center for field ecology and environmental studies near Mancelona, Mich., will speak on "Biblical Principles of Environmental Stewardship"
Mahan attended Michigan State University where he received a master's degree and a doctorate in aquatic biology. Prior to coming to Au Sable, he was a professor at Western Michigan University and a field representative for the Nature Conservancy.
In addition to program development and teaching college courses in stream ecology and natural history, he is actively involved in the conservation and restoration of land and water resources in northwest Lower Michigan. He has frequently given talks on human responsibility for the caretaking of God's Earth and on the ecology and protection of running water systems.
Mahan will speak at 11 a.m. on March 24 in Walling Auditorium on the ACU campus.
