Walk/Run ACU to take place Wednesday
For Immediate Release
Feb. 29, 2000
The second annual Walk/Run ACU will take place Wednesday, March 1, from noon to 5 p.m.
Walk/Run ACU is sponsored by the Department of Exercise Science and Health.
Students and faculty who participate can walk or run the 1.9-mile perimeter of the ACU campus.
The purpose of Walk/Run ACU is to promote a healthy and active lifestyle.
"It encourages people to become more active," said Liz Rotenberry, assistant professor or exercise science and health and organizer of Walk/Run ACU.
Last year more than 800 people walked and ran around campus. This year Rotenberry wants 1,000 people to participate in the event.
Participants can start anywhere on the perimeter. As they make the turn by the intramural field, tables will be set up with papers to sign to keep count of how many people are participating.
Walk/Run ACU is not a fundraiser, just a chance to raise awareness and promote active lifestyles
