Timeline for the move to NCAA Division I status

When a NCAA-affiliated university changes its membership status - such as moving from Division II to Division I, as ACU is doing - there is a four-year phase-in period. Scholarship levels increase during that time, but the university will be ineligible to participate in conference, regional or national post-season competition. In the fifth year (2017-18), full NCAA membership benefits will be restored and the Wildcats can again focus on adding to their championship heritage.
