Cope's Thoughts on the Positive Solution's Institute

Our announcement in the last newsletter of the launch of a new identity for the training arm of the Center for Conflict Resolution received quite a bit of notice. Reaction to the news has brought a few questions. The following are responses from the Center’s Executive Director, Joey Cope.
What are your plans for the Institute?
We are looking forward to offering a number of training opportunities through the Institute. For example, we are looking at several multi-course certification programs in conflict resolution.

Who 'Ya Gonna Call: An Outside Resource for Churches in Conflict

When conflict appears, some church leaders prefer to ignore the situation. Others attempt to handle it themselves. Occasionally, they are successful (at some level). Often, though, they are not and the body is significantly damaged. People are wounded, churches are divided, influence and momentum is lost, and the outcome is not pleasing to God.

Center Awarded $13,000 Grant
ACU's Center for Conflict Resolution (CCR) recently received a $13,000 Vision Grant from the United Way of Abilene to develop conflict resolution training for educationally and economically disadvantaged adults in the community. The CCR will work closely with FaithWorks of Abilene and other local nonprofit agencies to implement a conflict resolution curriculum.
