Incoming Mail/Packages

1. How do I pick up my mail?

Faculty, staff and students with an ACU box will receive an email notification when mail and packages is ready for pickup. Departments will receive a Call Notice in their mailbox for packages. Department on route will receive mail and packages during route hours. Please bring a faculty, staff or student I.D. when you are picking up mail and packages at the Mail Services window.

2. My tracking number says that my package was delivered? When do I receive my package(s)?

Mail and packages are processed through Mail Services when they arrive. Faculty, staff and students with an ACU box will receive an email notification when mail and packages is ready for pickup. Mail and packages are generally ready for pickup by 1:00pm each business day. However, they are exceptions when there is a high volume of inbound mail and packages.

3. If I cannot pick up my mail and package(s), can a friend/spouse come and pick up for me?

For security reasons, Mail Services employees are not legally allowed to release mail or packages that is not addressed to the intended recipient. However, you can submit a request to ums@acu.edu to arrange for somebody else to retrieve your packages. Department student workers will need to specify the department they are working for in order to retrieve department packages.

4. Can I use my friend’s ACU mailbox?

Each faculty, staff and student is assigned to a specific mailbox number. To avoid confusion and packages being returned to the sender because of incorrect or incomplete addresses, please prevent from using another occupant’s mailbox.

5. How much is an ACU mailbox?

Faculty, staff and students can complete a “New Mailbox Occupant Request Form”. All students in a resident hall are required to enroll in a ACU mailbox. Freshmen and sophomores mailbox charges are included in Room and Board are charged $50 each semester. Juniors, Seniors, graduate students who requests a personal mailbox will be charged a $50 mailbox fee each semester.

6. What items are restricted by ACU? 

ACU Mail Services processes all mail and packages with care and extreme caution. Any items that may become a hazard, threat and danger to the ACU community and university will be handled by the ACU Police and administration. Restricted items include (not limited to): alcoholic beverages, cigarettes, tobacco, weapons (ex. knives, guns, bullets, military grade weapons), biochemicals, live animals and specimen. Mail Services have the right to refuse deliveries if mail or packages are suspected to be a restricted item.
