Welcome to Residence Life!

We believe every person is created in the image of God and that they deserve a safe home where they can belong and grow.

Students arrive at ACU from every state and from over 60 nations world-wide, providing a diverse and radical life-altering experience. At its best, living in community encourages the collision of new ideas, student development, dialogues, and personal growth. Each ACU student is challenged daily to balance their personal heritages, life stories, experiences, and beliefs with other individuals and with the greater community. It is here that students are pushed, stretched, moved, inspired, and called to the transformative life of following Christ in community. We take residential living and learning seriously- from learning to respond to conflict with humility and maturity, developing integrity and taking responsibility for one's actions, balancing the strenuous demands of university life with inherent responsibilities varying from God, family, friends, and life, and overcoming adversity.

The heart and life-blood of Abilene Christian University is community. This exists in many forms: a diverse community of faith, an extraordinary academic community, and a vibrant residential community. ACU is steadfast in our commitment to a residential, co-curricular environment that enhances and deepens the academic and faith experiences.

ACU demands that each member of its residential community be treated with respect, dignity, integrity, and compassion, as a reflection of Christ's love. A distinct value for ACU Residence Life is facilitating community that leads our students into relationships with peers who are different than them. In particular, the lives and experiences of our students of color matter deeply to us and to God. Engagement and shared life with peers who come from diverse ethnic backgrounds is central to the vibrant living and learning experience.  It is our goal that students will leave their residential community as developed individuals, confident in their relationship with God, their leadership call to the world, and able to mediate and solve conflict in a complex and diverse global community.

The residence halls our students move into each year cannot just be a place where they lay their head at night. Our mission is to care radically for students in a way that leaves them saying goodbye to their home at the end of the Spring.
