Resident Advisor

Resident Advisor (RA), lives on the hall with residents in a private room. Room is provided and RAs are paid a yearly stipend. This is a competitive leadership position on campus given to sophomores, juniors and seniors. RAs plan hall activities and meet the needs of residents on their hall, as well as participate as an integral member on their hall staff.

The Resident Advisor Application opens each year in November and closes in mid-January. 

To be considered for employment, each applicant must:

  1. Submit this application form
  2. Request that two (2) recommendations be submitted on their behalf. 
    • One (1) recommendation must be from a current Reslife student staff member
    • One (1) recommendation must be from a professor, mentor, or work supervisor

Community Assistant

Community Assistants (CAs), live on the hall with residents and share a room, at no cost, with another CA. This is a competitive service position available to juniors, seniors, and graduate students. CAs participate as an integral member on their residence hall team by creating a safe, comfortable, and hospitable environment within the hall.

Senior Resident Advisor

Senior Resident Advisors (SRAs) serve in each residence hall and live in a private room or apartment. Room is provided and SRAs are paid a stipend. This is a competitive leadership position beyond the RA role. However, previous RA experience is not required. This position is given to juniors, seniors and graduate students. SRAs assist the Resident Director in mentoring and leading the team of RAs and fulfilling administrative tasks.

The Senior Resident Advisor Application opens each year in early October and closes in early November. To be considered for employment, each applicant must:

  1. Submit an application 
  2. Attach a resume and cover letter to the application. Both must be submitted as a PDF and saved in the format “C.Langston Resume” and “C.Langston CoverLetter” using your own first initial and last name.
  3. Have two (2) recommendations submitted on your behalf. It is the applicant’s responsibility to send this form to their references: 
    • One (1) recommendation must be from a student who is involved in peer leadership (i.e. Res Life staff member, OMA officers, SGA officers, etc.)
    • One (1) recommendation must be from a work supervisor, mentor, or professor (note: current Res Life student staff may not use their RD as a reference)
