I need a resumé. Where do I start?

There are several tools you can use to build your resumé. First, you can view samples and build your resumé using one of the templates provided for free in your CollegeCentralNetwork account. Also, you can view samples of resumés and tips on creating your document on our Career Center Guide.

What is a cover letter and is it required?

A cover letter should always accompany your resumé. The purpose of a cover letter is to introduce you and your resumé to potential employers. You can find samples and tools to create your cover letter in our Career Center Guide.

How do I look for jobs or internships?

To start, search for jobs or internships in your CollegeCentralNetwork account. You can also search for jobs or internships using LinkedIn. For further tips visit the internships and job search strategies section in our Career Center Guide.

How do I prepare for an interview?

Begin by researching the organization prior to the interview. Make an appointment with the Career Center team for a mock interview to prepare you and receive feedback on your interviewing skills. Our Career Center Guide provides interview prep tips and sample interview questions. Also, practice your interview skills on Interview Stream. 

How do I prepare for a career fair?

First and foremost, dress for success! It is important that you put your best foot forward and make a professional first impression. Be confident and communicate clearly. Bring copies of your resumé printed on professional resumé paper to distribute to potential employers when asked.

What should I wear to an interview or career fair?

It is always best to wear professional dress, even if the employer has a casual dress code. If you want to be taken seriously, then dress to be taken seriously.

How do I choose a career?

ACU provides resources to help you navigate the process of choosing a major and a career for after graduation. Start the journey by contacting the Academic Development Center at 325-674-6400 to learn about the Discovery Program that helps you learn more about your interests and how to select a career that is the right fit for you.

How do I find an on-campus job?

For a job on campus, visit the HR Student Employment site to view all current student employment opportunities.

How do I make an appointment with the Career Center?

Visit the home page of our website and schedule an appointment.

The employer asked for my unofficial transcript. How do I get it and send it to them?

To save your unofficial transcript as a pdf,  follow these steps:

●      Log in to myACU and select Banner

●      Select Student Financial Aid

●      Select Student Records

●      Select Academic Transcript.

●      Select Submit

●      On the top of the page select File, then Select Print

●      On the bottom left select PDF

●      Then select "Save as PDF"

Where is the Career Center?

The ACU Career Center is located on the second floor of the Hunter Welcome Center.

What is College Central Network?

College Central Network is ACU Career Center's online job board system for current students and alumni. This service will help you find internships and employment, both locally and nationwide.  You can also use the resumé builder program and career portfolio option in this program as well as many other features.


Alumni

What services do you provide for alumni?

The ACU Career Center provides all services to alumni at no charge. Due to the volume of appointments, our preferred method of advising is electronic communication, however you are welcome to make an appointment with our team as well.

What is College Central Network?

College Central Network is ACU Career Center's online job board system for current students and alumni. This service will help you find internships and employment, both locally and nationwide.  You can also use the resumé builder program and career portfolio option in this program as well as many other features.


Employers

How do I post a job or internship?

College Central Network is the official job posting service of the ACU Career Center available for no charge, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Once your registration in College Central Network is reviewed, if it is approved you will receive an email which includes your Access ID and Password and defines your Access Level.

If approved, depending on your access level, you will be able to use some or all of the services listed below:

●      Job Postings

●      Search résumés of our students and alumni.

●      On-Campus Interviewing

Is there a charge for your services?

The majority of our employer services are free of charge. If you wish to reserve an information table in the Campus Center, there is a $30 per day charge.
