Robin Saylor is director of content strategy for University Marketing and assistant editor for ACU Today magazine. In addition to writing and editing, she develops strategies to promote the university through online channels, social media, print publications, web, video, e-newsletters and other communication channels.
A native of Abilene, Robin joined the ACU staff in 2008 after a career as a reporter, news editor, city editor and design editor for the Abilene Reporter-News. She also has worked as advertising director for West Texas Wholesale Supply Co. in Abilene, city editor for the Big Spring (Texas) Heraldand edited and designed the Chamber of Commerce’s Abilene Magazine for many years.
She was a National Merit Scholar and earned her B.A. in journalism and M.S. in digital media from ACU. She was editor of The Optimist student newspaper and recipient of the Wendell H. Bedichek award as the top journalism student.
Robin has won statewide Associated Press Managing Editors Contest awards for feature series, headline writing, front page design and feature page design. She has won regional Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and Addy awards for social media campaigns, Abilene Magazine and Southern Hills Church of Christ promotional materials. She was employee of the year for the Abilene Reporter-News in 1997 and was inducted into the E.W. Scripps President’s Club in 2000. She periodically teaches courses in ACU’s Department of Journalism and Mass Communication.
