Membership

Facility Access
Only ACU students, employees and their spouses/dependents, and specific affiliate members are eligible for SRWC membership. All members are requied to complete a Waiver prior to using the SRWC. Dependents (in a family membership) under the age of 16 are only allowed to use the SRWC during Family Time and must be signed-in and accompanied by a parent, grandparent or legal guardian at all times. Dependents age 16-26 must sign-up for an Adult Dependent membership.


2017 Membership Terms

  • Spring: January 3 – May 13
  • Summer: May 15 – August 19
  • Fall: August 20 – December 22
     

Students
All current ACU Students who are enrolled in at least 6 hours of academic classes are eligible for a free SRWC membership. However, all students must complete a Waiver Form before they are given access to the SRWC.

Employees 
The following employee types are eligible for a free SRWC Family Membership and may enroll by filling out the Abundant Life Pledge Form

  • Full-Time Faculty
  • Full-Time Staff
  • Reduced Full-Time Staff
  • Half-Time Staff

 

Adjunct Professor Membership
The Adjunct Professor membership is $100 per term (pro-rated at mid-term to half-price) and must be paid in cash, check, or credit card at the SRWC Member Services desk. Adjunct members will use their ACU Employee ID Card to access the SRWC. ACU Adjunct Professors may purchase a SRWC Family Membership by following these steps in order:

  1. Visit Wildcat Central (located in the McGlothlin Campus Center) to acquire an ACU Employee ID Card.
  2. Visit the SRWC Member Services Desk to fill out an ACU Affiliate Membership Form and Waiver and purchase your membership.


Please Note: Your ID card will work at the SRWC Turnstile within two business days of completing your membership form and waiver.

Part-Time & Temporary Staff
The Part-Time/Temporary Staff Membership is $100 per term (pro-rated at mid-term to half-price) and must be paid in cash, check, or credit card at the SRWC Member Services desk. Part-Time and Temporary Staff members will use their ACU ID Card to access the SRWC. ACU Part-Time & Temporary Staff may purchase a SRWC Family Membership by following these steps in order:

  1. Visit The Depot (located in the McGlothlin Campus Center) to acquire an ACU Employee ID Card.
  2. Visit the SRWC Member Services Desk to fill out an ACU Affiliate Membership Form and Waiver and purchase your membership.


Please Note: Your ID card will work at the SRWC Turnstile within two business days of completing your membership form and waiver.

Affiliate Memberships
Due to their close affiliation with ACU, certain individuals are eligible for SRWC membership. Listed below are the memberships that are currently available. Memberships are available to be purchased each term. (spring, summer & fall) Prices will only be pro-rated at the midway point of each term when they are reduced to half-price. All affiliate members may use the facility during regular SRWC hours. 

Alumni Family
The ACU Alumni Family Membership is a family membership that is available to anyone who has completed a minimum of one academic semester at ACU. The ACU Alumni Family Membership is $180 per term (pro-rated at mid-term to half-price) and must be paid in cash, check, or credit card at the SRWC Member Services desk. Alumni Family members will use their ACU Alumni ID Card to access the SRWC. Minor Dependents may only be signed-in by a member who is a Parent, Grandparent or Legal Guardian. (No exceptions apply, including: siblings, babysitters, uncles/aunts, cousins, etc.) ACU Alumni may purchase a SRWC Family Membership by following these steps in order:

  1. Visit Wildcat Central (located in the McGlothlin Campus Center) to acquire an ACU Alumni ID Card.
  2. Visit the SRWC Member Services Desk to fill out an ACU Affiliate Membership Form and Waiver and purchase your membership.

Alumni Individual
The ACU Alumni Individual Membership is a membership that is available to anyone who has completed a minimum of one academic semester at ACU. The ACU Alumni Individual Membership is $120 per term (pro-rated at mid-term to half-price) and must be paid in cash, check, or credit card at the SRWC Member Services desk. Alumni Individual memberships may only be used by the individual who purchases the membership. Alumni Individual members will use their ACU Alumni ID Card to access the SRWC. Alumni may purchase a SRWC Membership by following these steps in order:

  1. Visit Wildcat Central (located in the McGlothlin Campus Center) to acquire an ACU Alumni ID Card.
  2. Visit the SRWC Member Services Desk to fill out an ACU Affiliate Membership Form and Waiver and purchase your membership.

ACU Retiree   
The ACU Retiree Membership is a family membership that is available to anyone who has retired from ACU after working as a full time employee of the university. The ACU Retiree Membership is $100 per term (pro-rated at mid-term to half-price) and must be paid in cash, check, or credit card at the SRWC Member Services desk. Retiree members will use their ACU Retiree ID Card to access the SRWC. ACU retirees may purchase a SRWC Family Membership by following these steps in order:

  1. Visit Wildcat Central (located in the McGlothlin Campus Center) to acquire an ACU Retiree ID Card.
  2. Visit the SRWC Member Services Desk to fill out an ACU Affiliate Membership Form and Waiver and purchase your membership.

Student's Spouse
A Student’s Spouse Membership is available for a student’s spouse who is currently enrolled in at least 6 academic hours at ACU. The Student's Spouse Membership is $50 per term (pro-rated at mid-term to half-price) and must be paid in cash, check, or credit card at the SRWC Member Services desk. A Student Spouse member will use their SRWC Affiliate Membership ID Card to access the SRWC. Minor Dependents may only be signed-in by a member who is a Parent, Grandparent or Legal Guardian. (No exceptions apply, including: siblings, babysitters, uncles/aunts, cousins, etc.) A student’s spouse may purchase a Family Membership by following these steps in order:

  1. Visit The Depot (located in the McGlothlin Campus Center) to acquire an ACU Affiliate Membership ID Card.
  2. Visit the SRWC Member Services Desk to fill out an ACU Affiliate Membership Form and Waiver and purchase your membership.

ACS Employee
All current employees of ACS (Abilene Christian Schools) are eligible for a Family Membership. The ACS Employee Membership is $100 per term (pro-rated at mid-term to half-price) and must be paid in cash, check, or credit card at the SRWC Member Services desk. Minor Dependents may only be signed-in by a member who is a Parent, Grandparent or Legal Guardian. (No exceptions apply, including: siblings, babysitters, uncles/aunts, cousins, etc.) ACS Employees may purchase a SRWC Family Membership by following these steps in order:

  1. Visit The Depot (located in the McGlothlin Campus Center) to acquire an ACU Affiliate Membership ID Card.
  2. Visit the SRWC Member Services Desk to fill out an ACU Affiliate Membership Form and Waiver and purchase your membership.

Family Membership 
All family memberships at the SRWC include membership for the primary member (person purchasing the membership), their spouse, their adult dependents (ages 18-26), and their minor dependents (17 and younger). Minor Dependents age 15 and younger may only use the SRWC during Family Time. Please see the instructions below for each family member.

Primary Member
The primary member is the member who purchased the membership. The primary member may access the SRWC by following these steps in order:

  1. Visit Wildcat Central (located in the McGlothlin Campus Center) to acquire the appropriate Membership ID Card. (Employee, Alumni, Retiree, Dependent or SRWC Affiliate Membership)
  2. Visit the SRWC Member Services Desk to fill out an ACU Affiliate Membership Form and Waiver.


Please Note: Your ID card will work at the SRWC Turnstile within two business days of completing your membership form and waiver.

Spouse
The spouse of a member may access the SRWC by following these steps in order:

  1. Visit Wildcat Central (located in the McGlothlin Campus Center) to acquire the appropriate Membership ID Card. (Alumni, Retiree, Dependent or SRWC Affiliate Membership)
  2. Visit the SRWC Member Services Desk to fill out a waiver. ACU employee spouses will be required to fill out a new waiver each new calendar year.

Adult Dependents (age 18-26) & Minor Dependents (age 16-17)
Dependents age 16-26 may use the SRWC without parental supervision by following these steps:

  1. Visit the Wildcat Central in the McGlothlin Campus Center to have an ACU I.D. made
  2. Visit the SRWC Member Services Desk to fill out an Affiliate Membership Form and Waiver. Dependents age 16-26 are required to present a drivers license or birth certificate as proof of age before being granted this membership. Dependents age 16-17 must submit a parent signed waiver prior to using the SRWC.

Minor Dependents (age 15 and younger)
Minors 15 years old and younger may only use the SRWC with adult supervision during Family Time. The following policies apply to this age group:

  1. In order to be granted access, a minor must submit (or have on file) a parent-signed waiver. SRWC employees can determine if a parent-signed waiver is on file by accessing the parent(s) information in our database.
  2. Before entering the SRWC, an adult member or guest who is a parent, grandparent or legal guardian must sign-in the minor using the designated binder at the Member Services Desk.
  3. The minor must constantly be in visual and auditory range of the adult member that signed them into the SRWC.
  4. Minors 15 and younger are not allowed to use free-weights, weight machines, cardio equipment or the bouldering wall.
  5. Minors 15 and younger will not be issued an ACU I.D. card.

 

Family Time 
Family Time is a designated time for our members with family memberships or guests to attend the SRWC with their minor dependents.

Family time is currently offered on the following days and times:

Fall & Spring 

  • Mondays - Fridays: 6 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.
  • Fridays: From 5 p.m. to Close 
  • Saturdays: From Open to Close 
  • Sundays: From Open to Close

 

Summer 

  • Monday - Saturday: Open to Close
