Printers older than six years old are not supported by Technology Support Services.
Overview of Issue
With the advancement of technology, the older printers do not have enough memory to produce printing requests. They do not work well with higher graphics and are high maintenance. No repairs after April 1, 2004 will be made. Rather than repair these machines, we will dispose of them as they become inoperable. Repairs will not be made on inkjet printers as well. Printers that are newer than six years old will only be repaired if the repair cost is less than the printer’s value.
Revisions to this policy must be reviewed and approved by the CIO Cabinet.
The following individuals or offices should be notified prior to implementing changes to this policy: CIO Cabinet.
