Printer queues will be limited to a small list of supported printers.

Overview of Issue
Due to the changes in new printer drivers, many printers are not compatible with campus applications.  Also, because of the printer drivers, security issues, and incompatibilities, printer sharing can no longer be supported efficiently.  Technology Support, in cooperation with System and Operations, will maintain a list of the printers that will be supported on the ACU network.  The list can be found at  With this, it can be assured that printers will work correctly with campus applications.  No software configuration repairs for locally shared printer ques will be made after January 1, 2010. 

Change Control
Revisions to this policy must be reviewed and approved by the CIO Cabinet.
