Kelly L. Young, CPA, Chief Financial Officer

Kelly L. Young serves as ACU’s Chief Financial Officer and has responsibility for the University’s financial operations, business services including areas such as the campus store and dining, and facilities and campus development including such areas as new construction, landscape and grounds, maintenance, and campus design and aesthetics.  Kelly joined ACU in 2002 as Associate Chief Financial Officer.  He developed the long term financial plan to support ACU’s 21st Century Vision and planned and implemented the University’s economic contingency plan in response to the recent recession.

Before joining ACU, Kelly served in various roles at Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA for almost eleven years, culminating in the role of University Controller.  He has taught finance and accounting classes at both Pepperdine and ACU.  He began his career in the banking industry working with investments and trust management in Abilene and Waco, TX in the mid and late 1980’s.

A graduate of ACU with a BBA in Accounting, he went on to earn an MBA from Baylor University.  Kelly is also a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of Texas.  He has made presentations at the National Association of College and University Business Officers and Association of University Real Estate Officers seminars.

Kelly and his wife JoAnn, a middle school teacher, have three daughters.
