Dr. Eric Gumm, Registrar and ADC Director
Eric serves as the Registrar and the Director of the First-Year Program and Academic Development. He earned his Bachelor of Science degrees in Religion and History from Pepperdine University in 1994, a Masters in Christian Ministry from ACU in 1997 and a Doctor of Education from Baylor University in 2006. Having worked at ACU since 1997, he has served in the First-Year Program since 2001, the Academic Development Center since 2010, and began serving as Registrar in 2012.

Sarah Shipp, Academic Coach
Sarah primarily serves as the Academic Coach, working with students who desire to improve their academic skills. She is also a co-advisor for the freshman honor society, Phi Eta Sigma. She teaches sections of UNIV 111-Foundations for Success and UNIV 011-Learning Strategies. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from ACU in 2007 and her Masters of Science in Counseling Psychology from ACU in 2013. She joined the Academic Development Center as a staff member in October of 2014.

Julia Young, Academic Counselor
Julia serves as an Academic Counselor and works primarily with students who are on academic probation as well as incoming students looking to build strong academic skills. She teaches sections of UNIV 111-Foundations for Success and UNIV 011-Learning Strategies. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Howard Payne University and her Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy from Hardin Simmons University. Julia is a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern in the state of Texas. She joined the Academic Development Center team in June of 2017.

Jacki Hathorn, Administrative Coordinator
Jacki started working at ACU in 1999 and she has served as the Administrative Coordinator for the First-Year Program since 2004. Having had all three of her children graduate from ACU, Jacki is a great resource for parents and students. In our office, she coordinates everything from the facilities for our Cornerstone classes to the contact with academic departments across campus throughout the year. Jacki enjoys working with the incoming freshmen and transfer students as they prepare for their college careers, and if you call the First-Year program office she will be the welcoming voice that greets you.
