ACU's accreditation by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) assures students that their education meets the highest standards established by the social work profession for quality education.
CSWE requires accredited social work programs to maintain accredited status through demonstrating the measurement of student competency in 9 core areas of social work education:
The Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSSW) program at ACU has been fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education since October, 1982. This means that the ACU BSSW graduate is prepared for licensure as a social worker, to seek immediate professional employment in a variety of human service settings, and to pursue graduate study in our own M.S.S.W. program or at another school of social work, usually with advanced standing in graduate social work education.
The Master of Science in Social Work (MSSW) program at ACU has been accredited by the Council on Social Work Education since 2009. Students earning a Master’s degree in Social Work at ACU are prepared for master’s level licensure upon graduation, and are eligible pursue licensure as a clinical social worker.
