ACU on the Reservation

Imagine sitting around a campfire with your closest friends, gazing up into the wide Montana sky at the millions of twinkling stars after a long day of branding cattle or cutting trees for teepee poles. That's just one of the many experiences that the Crow Reservation summer interns experience.

The ACU Crow Reservation summer internship program offers students a chance to experience Crow life for themselves. For four months, interns will gain valuable insight into the Crow community by living with and working alongside them. They also have the opportunity to serve as mentors to the Crow youth.

Summer Classes
Interns have the opportunity to take classes at Little Big Horn College, located on the reservation, during their stay. You can locate more information on their course offerings, schedules, and tuition rates here.

Financial Aid
Interns are given a stipend that covers travel, meal, and living expenses. Any additional expenses incurred during your stay will not be assumed by the program. You will need to make alternative arrangements, if necessary, for additional financial assistance. Contact Student Financial Services at 674-2643 for more information.

"I found this internship to be one of the most eye opening experiences I have had here at ACU. I had the opportunity to meet a family of another culture and share life with them. This wasn't a mission trip but it was one of the most spiritual times I have ever had. You get the chance to meet these people who need help but help that you can't necessarily directly provide. It is frustrating to only be there 3 months and know that soon you will be gone and may be forgotten. I suppose in the long run it is more important for me to remember and never forget about the Crow people." -Hillary Mudroch, Crow Intern
