Tom Milholland

Dr. Tom Milholland was appointed assistant provost for institutional effectiveness in 1998, and he also serves as director of institutional research and assessment and professor of marriage and family therapy in the College of Biblical Studies. He has been a member of the ACU faculty since 1979.

Also at the university he has served as director of the Marriage and Family Institute, chair of the Department of Marriage and Family, and associate dean of the College of Biblical Studies. He recently was co-director of ACU's self-study for reaccreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

A native of Dallas, he graduated from Oklahoma Christian University with a B.A. degree in Bible in 1966. He also received a M.S. in guidance and counseling from Texas A&M-Commerce and a Ph.D. in family studies from Texas Tech University. He has served as a minister and elder for Churches of Christ in Texas and Michigan.

Milholland is a member of the American and Texas Associations of Marriage and Family Therapy and the National Council on Family Relations. He also has been director of counseling for Christian Homes of Abilene and chair of the Texas State Board of Examiners of Marriage and Family Therapists. He is an author and frequently speaks for churches, organizations, conferences and workshops.

Milholland is a member of University Church of Christ. He is married to the former Sandra Woodroof, and the couple has two children, Kay Elizabeth and Matthew Thomas.
