Paul Faulkner

Dr. Paul Faulkner came to Abilene Christian as a student in 1949. Faulkner was NAIA national champion in the pole vault as a senior in 1952 and was a four-year letterman and the university's top vaulter and javelin thrower all four seasons.

Faulkner graduated from ACU with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1952 and received his master's from ACU in 1961.

He joined the ACU faculty in 1957, serving as Dean of Men from 1958-1965.  He later taught Bible and founded and chaired the nationally renowned Marriage and Family Institute.

In 1974, Faulkner and Dr. Carl Brecheen began the Marriage Enrichment Seminar, an intensive 12-hour program designed to enrich, strengthen and vitalize the marriage relationship. The seminar has since been filmed for distribution.

Faulkner and his wife, Gladys ('52), have four children: Deborah Clinton ('76), Von ('78), Brad ('83) and Connie Brown ('86).
