After teaching business courses at Abilene High School for nearly 19 years, Jozell Brister joined the ACU faculty in 1980 as an associate professor of business, and in 1990 she became an associate dean of the College of Business Administration.
In 1986 Brister was named Outstanding Teacher of the Year and was selected by the W Club, the women’s honor organization, to receive the Role Model Award in 1989.
She has also served the university as assistant to the provost handling budgetary matters. In 2004 she received recognition for her 25 years of service to ACU.
