Floyd Dunn

Dr. Floyd W. Dunn graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from ACU in 1944.  Dunn joined the ACU faculty as a professor of chemistry in 1946 and became graduate dean in 1972.  He also served as dean of research at ACU, chairman of the ACU Research Council and chairman of the Health Professions Advisory Committee for students in pre-medical studies.

While on leave from ACU, Dunn also served as a visiting professor at Chiang Mai University Medical School in Chiang Mai, Thailand and Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand.  In 1996 Dunn was honored by the government of Thailand for his outstanding service to higher education and research. In January 2005, Dunn received an honorary doctorate from Chiang Mai University for his work there.

Dr. Dunn and his wife, Pauline ('44), have three children: Shirley Grimes ('70), Dr. James Floyd Dunn Jr. ('71) and Nina Dikin ('75).
