Dr. Callie Faye Milliken graduated from ACU in 1938. Milliken joined the ACU staff in 1953 as an assistant professor and director of the library. She was promoted to associate professor in 1956 and received full professorship in 1977.
She directed the planning and building of ACU's Brown Library, which opened in 1970. Milliken also established the Friends of the ACU Library organization and received the first "Friend for a Day" award, which was presented annually during ACU's homecoming. Dr. Milliken retired in 1986 after 33 years with the library at ACU.
