Construction

This one-story wood frame building was originally erected on the old campus immediately after the original Administration Building had been destroyed by a fire.

After the early morning fire of January 28, 1929, the Board of Trustees moved that very day to approve the construction of a temporary wood frame building to house the classrooms administrative offices.  The building was quickly completed by W. N. Hollis and cost $506.54 to

build.  This building was moved to the new campus at cost of $250.  The movers, J. R. Horn and I. J. Lane, had to cut the building in three pieces to move it from old campus to the new campus.  Another $2,185.74 was spent to remodel and furnish the building as a chemistry laboratory.

Floor Plan

This building housed the Chemistry classes:

  • Two laboratories
  • Two offices
  • Two supply rooms
  • Balance room.
