A.B. Barret

When Childers Classical Institute opened in September 1906, founder A.B. Barret served as its first president. He and his wife, Exie, sold their farm and used the proceeds to help the school. Barret was born in Covington, Tenn., and attended West Tennessee Christian College in Henderson and Nashville Bible School in Nashville.
