Spiritual Life & Student Ministries (SLSM) organizes events and experiences that assist students as they seek to grow in Christ. The Director of SLSM serves as advisor for four on-campus, student-led ministries where student leaders seek to encourage their peers in the daily process of spiritual formation.
SLSM partners with the Spiritual Life Core to provide activities such as Bible studies, prayer groups, and the weekly “18:38” Chapels where contemporary issues are discussed as part of an effort to seek out truth and help students to engage culture. SLSM sponsors short-term mission experiences through Spring Break Campaigns and Weekend Campaigns. SLSM works with Awake 3:18 to raise awareness, provide education, and offer ministry opportunities related to the global HIV/AIDS crisis, with focus being directed toward the African pandemic, as well as the needs of families affected by AIDS here in the Abilene area.
Spiritual Life & Student Ministries hosts “Meet the Churches” at the beginning of each semester, networking with local campus ministers and congregations to encourage student attendance, participation and development of relationships with local church families.
