Geographically Based Outside Scholarships

Jewel Davis Scarborough Scholarship for Graduate Study – Funded through the American Association of University Women's Abilene branch, applicants for the Jewel Davis Scarborough Scholarship must be women of a mature age who are returning to education and who have a B (3.0) average or above on all college work.

Maude King and Celina-Torres Fennell Scholarship for Undergraduate Study at Local Colleges – Funded through the American Association of University Women’s Abilene branch, applicants for this scholarship must be women of a mature age who have returned to education and are working toward their first degree. Applicants must be currently enrolled in a local college and have a B (3.0) average or above on all college work.

The Sybil B. Harrington Scholarship – Funded through the Amarillo College Foundation to seniors graduating from any accredited high school in the northern 26 counties of the Panhandle of Texas. Must be U.S. Citizens, be a full-time college student and maintain a B (3.0) average. Urban Scholarship Fund – Established by the Texas State Legislature in cooperation with SBC, Verizon, and Sprint and administered by the Texas Association of Developing Colleges (TADC). Must be Texas resident and graduate of a high school in one of the following cities:  Abilene, Amarillo, Arlington, Austin, Beaumont, Corpus Christi, Dallas, El Paso, Fort Worth, Garland, Houston, Irving, Laredo, Lubbock, Mesquite, Pasadena, Plano, San Antonio, and Waco.  EFC must be $200 or less.
