The mission of Residence Life Education and Housing is to provide environments that promote students’ spiritual, social, and academic development as they live and learn in community with one another. Living on campus provides our first- and second-year students with the advantage of living in a residence hall that promotes a Christ-centered atmosphere.
All first- and second-year full-time students are required to reside in hall facilities. Research suggests that students who live on campus are more likely to complete their college education, participate in university activities, adjust to new social situations, and develop life-long friendships within the university community. Professional residence hall staff are available 24 hours a day/seven days a week to provide our students with assistance and support. Resident Assistants act as mentors, friends, and guides through the first two years of life at ACU.
At ACU, we are constructing a holistic vision for Residence Life Education and Housing, one in which communities of students work together to assure the best possible living and learning environments. We believe that living and learning are an integrated process, and that faith in Jesus Christ is the basis for all things.
We believe very strongly in a student development model of living and learning, where students are able to grow spiritually, socially, and academically. For your first two years at ACU, you will live in a residence hall where you will have opportunities to make important connections for Bible study, service, leadership development, study groups, and lots of fun.
Your first year at ACU, you will have an 11:30 p.m. curfew Sunday through Thursday nights, and 1:00 a.m. Friday and Saturday nights. The curfew enables you to be back in the halls, forming life-long relationships with friends. As a second-year student, you will not have curfew unless you are pledging a social club.
Residence Life Education and Housing is a key component of the educational mission of ACU; it is where living, learning, and faith come together so that students may learn to live lives of Christian service and leadership throughout the world.
