Introduction
The Abilene Christian University Purchasing Card Program provides procurement abilities and payables to improve efficiency in processing expenditures.
The Purchasing Card Program will allow the Cardholder to purchase approved commodities and services directly from merchants. Each card is issued to a named individual, and Abilene Christian University is clearly displayed on the card.
The authorized cardholder is able to purchase directly on behalf of ACU, thereby allowing tax-exempt use. Transactions are paid by ACU to JPMorgan Chase.
PCard stands for Purchasing Card. The PCard is a MasterCard credit card from JPMorgan Chase Bank. The PCard is a means of streamlining the traditional procurement and payables process.
Purpose
To provide an efficient method for making purchases and paying for commodities and services.
Policy
Cardholders are responsible for ensuring the proper and secure use of their ACU Purchasing Card and should respect the card as it were their own. Cardholders are responsible for insuring that sufficient budget funds exist for making purchases and should only use account numbers that they have received appropriate authorization to use. Any misuse of the card or SDOL (i.e., not in accordance with ACU policy) could result in suspension of the cardholder's privilege and other disciplinary action under standard university policy.
