Services
Our office has an outpatient clinic with a full time physician, one full-time nurse practitioner, one part-time psychiatrist, 2 Registered Nurses and a great office staff to assist you. Treatment of acute and minor injuries is available. All current ACU students who have paid a health fee are eligible to take advantage of the services, as well as, their immediate family (spouse & kids). There are minimal charges for medication, dressings and the administration of injections.

All students must have a Health Record Form. This should be done after being admitted to ACU and before registration for classes. All information is kept confidential in the student's medical file. If you are in need of a health form please call the office or print a copy of the health record form from this web-site and mail or fax it in to the Medical Clinic Office.
What hours is the Medical Clinic open?
Medical Clinic is open Monday-Friday, 8-12 noon, 1-4:30 p.m. The clinic will be closed evenings, weekends and major holidays.
Where can I go if am sick during the night or weekend?

What if I do not have insurance and there are no appointments available at the ACU Medical Clinic?
Students can go to Hendrick Family Health Center or Medical Care Mission. See Referral Sources for phone and address information. Call for an appointment. They will also take insurance. Let the receptionist know you are a college student.
What is the cost to see the doctor or nurse at the Medical Clinic?
The cost is $15 to $35 per visit for the doctor or nurse practitioner and there will be additional costs for medications, injections, medical supplies, etc. There is no charge to see a nurse. The clinic reserves the right to make fee changes as necessary without prior notice.
Do I have to pay for the visit at the time of service?
Yes, payment is expected at the time of service. The students have the option of paying by cash, check, or charge their student account.
Do I need to make an appointment to come into the Medical Clinic?
Yes, you need to call 325-674-2625 or come by McKinzie Hall, main level, east end to make an appointment to see the doctor. There is no appointment necessary to see one of the nurses; walk-ins are welcome. One of the nurses will evaluate the problem, and as necessary, they will make a doctor appointment or referral. Most patients can be seen with 24 to 48 hours. However, this is not guaranteed. Please be aware that during high peak volume times, such as the Flu Season, the clinic is often full and wait times for walk-ins will be lengthy. Can I get a flu vaccine at the Medical Clinic?
Yes, the flu vaccine will be available in mid October. See Calendar of Events for the date and times for the flu clinic.
Is the meningitis vaccine mandatory?
No, not at ACU. We do have the vaccines available, and the students can pay or charge to their account. For more information on meningitis, see Health Information.
Can the doctor treat all my health problems?
The doctor treats most health related problems encountered by college students. For more information on services provided by the Medical Clinic, see Services.
