Mailing to Students

Students living on campus in the residence halls or Sherrod Residential Park have a mailbox on campus. A mailbox is optional for those living in University Park Apartments or off campus. About 30 percent of those students living off campus keep a mailbox on campus.

All incoming mail and shipments for students with an ACU mailbox is received by us and then held for the student to come pick up. The Postal Service and the small package carriers will only deliver to us, they will not deliver to the residence halls.

All mail and shipments for students must have the student's name to be delivered. We will not box U.S. Mail addressed with a simplified address ("Postal Customer") or an occupant address ("Occupant") format. We will not box U.S. Mail with exceptional address format ("Jane Doe or Current Occupant") if the named addressee is not in the mailbox. Mail with these address formats will be treated as undeliverable and processed according to postal regulations.

When ordering a cell phone for a student, please be aware that if you order it on the phone company's web site, the cell phone will more than likely be shipped with only the name on the account as the recipient. The phone companies do this for credit card fraud prevention. As the student's name is not on the shipment, we will not know who to deliver it to and will return it to the sender. To avoid this situation, order the cell phone over the phone company's toll-free line as they can address the shipment to the name on the account in care of the student's name.  With the student's name on the shipment, we can then correctly deliver it.

Line Instructions

The instructions for the individual lines are:

Name Line	Nicknames unrelated to the student's given name, personal business names, etc. need to be sent in care of the student's name as listed in ACU's records
Street Line	Serves as the street address for shipments via DHL, FedEx, Lone Star Overnight or UPS
Mailbox Line	Is required on all incoming U.S. Mail and shipments
Last Line	The "+4" part of the ZIP+4 is the last four digits of the mailbox number
Country Line	Mail from overseas will require a country line of "UNITED STATES" below the last line

 

Off Campus Flyers

Off campus businesses and organizations can send unaddressed flyers through ACU's campus mail system to the students with an ACU mailbox.  For more information and the boxing fees, please see our Off Campus Flyers page.
