Delivery of the U.S. Mail and shipments via the small package carriers depend on the service level of the item. The goals below assume that the item is correctly addressed, incorrectly addressed items may take longer to deliver.
|
U.S. Mail |
It is our goal to have the U.S. mail, except Express Mail, and the call notices for oversized mail or mail requiring a signature boxed by 5 p.m. the same day we received it.
|
Ground Package Services |
It is our goal within two hours of receipt to have the call notice in the recipient's mailbox. Ground package services includes:
- DHL ground services
- FedEx Ground
- Lone Star Overnight ground services
- UPS 3-Day Select, Ground and International Standard services
|
Air Package Services |

Signatures in the Carrier's Records |
One of our employee's signature will be shown in the carrier's records as the accepting agent for all mail and shipments requiring a signature. We in turn get the recipient's signature when we deliver the item to them.
Postal Service paper return receipts will show the signature of the recipient, electronic return receipts will show the signature of our employee.
|
Delivery Confirmation Service |
U.S. Mail with Delivery Confirmation is scanned at the Abilene post office as they come across the mail pieces while sorting the mail. The date and time recorded is not necessarily the day and is definitely not the time we received the mail piece or the date and time we delivered it to the recipient.
|
Tracing a Shipment |
For us to check our records regarding receipt and/or delivery at ACU, we must have the carrier, airbill or item number, date mailed or shipped and the name and address of the recipient.
