Extra Services Available
The extra services available for domestic mail are explained below. Some of these services are not available for all classes of mail, and only certain services may be combined on the same mail piece. The forms for the extra services are available from us at no charge.
We will return the mailing receipt to the sender after we mail the item. We also maintain a duplicate record of all numbered items: certified mail, delivery confirmation, insured mail, registered mail, return receipt for merchandise and signature confirmation.

Delivery Confirmation
Express Mail Insurance
| Description | Provides automatic indemnity coverage of up to $100 at no extra charge for items that are lost, rifled or damaged. Additional insurance may be purchased up to a maximum liability of $5,000. For negotiable items, currency or bullion the maximum liability is $15. |

Insurance
| Description | Provides indemnity coverage of up to $5,000 for a lost, rifled, or damaged article. It also provides proof of mailing, an article number and a delivery record is maintained by the Postal Service. A delivery signature is only obtained for insurance of more than $200. |

Registered Mail
| Description | Provides the most secure service offered by the Postal Service. Insurance is provided and included in the fee for items valued up to a maximum liability of $25,000. Handling charges apply for articles valued over $25,000. Insurance is not available for items with no value. It also provides proof of mailing, an article number and a delivery record is maintained by the Postal Service.
