Typically each department has one mailbox and all faculty and staff receive their mail in that mailbox. Each department must have a mailbox on campus, whether or not they are located on campus. Except for residence hall directors, you should receive your personal mail (merchandise, catalogs, monthly bills, etc.) at home.
Official Student Organizations
Each student organization's mailbox number is either the organization's own mailbox or its advisor's mailbox. Campus Life requires that all social clubs have their own ACU mailbox. A student's mailbox is not acceptable for receiving mail for a student organization.
Official University Organizations
Each university organization's mailbox number is either the organization's own mailbox or its sponsoring department's mailbox.
ACU affiliates that have an office on campus must have an ACU mailbox. While an ACU mailbox is not required for ACU affiliates that just have a presence on campus, we do recommend one.
We offer the following mailbox options for departments:
3½ x 4½ x 14½ inches
These mailboxes are the size of a normal post office box and will hold four or five normal magazines (or two medium newspapers) and a number of letters. They will also hold a small package (such as a box of checks or a video tape).
11 x 6 x 14½ inches
These mailboxes will hold a large number of magazines or newspapers and letters. They will also hold a medium sized package or several small packages.
11 x 12 x 14½ inches
These mailboxes will hold a very large number of magazines or newspapers and letters. They will also hold several medium sized packages or a number of small packages.
The small mailboxes are only assigned for residence halls and student organizations. All departments must have a medium or drawer mailbox based upon their mail volume. A department who consistently overflows their small or medium mailbox will be required to move to a larger mailbox.
