Student Direct Deposit Frequently Asked Questions

1. When will my direct deposit start?

For security reasons and to ensure that your funds are deposited approprately, we do a testing instance the first pay period after you authorize us to Direct Deposit your funds. (Employees who bank at First Financial Bank do not require a testing instance.) Then the next paycheck will be direct deposited.

2. What do I do if my bank is not located in Abilene?

We can direct deposit your paycheck into almost any type of bank. We will check with your home bank when we do a testing instace before we actually transmit the funds.

3. What if I don't have a bank account?

There are three banks that offer free checking account to students. Students may choose to open an account with the bank of their choice or sign up for a Purple Power Card in Human Resources.

4. What if I feel I can't participate in Direct Deposit?

All students who work for ACU will need to sign up for Direct Deposit. This is the method ACU uses for processing student pay.

5. Is Direct Deposit legal?

Yes. The university's legal counsel has reviewed the Texas Pay Day law, and it is legal to pay employees by Direct Deposit with written authorization.
