Acceptable I-9 Documents

Either one item ONE item from List A OR one item from EACH List B and C

U.S. Passport (expired or unexpired).

Driver's license or I.D. card issued by state or outlying possession of the U.S. provided it contains a photograph or information such as name, date of birth, sex, height, eye color, and address.

U.S. Social Security card issued by the Social Security Administration.

Unexpired foreign passport, with I-551 Stamp or attached INS form I-94 indicating unexpired employment authorization.

I.D. card issued by federal, state, or local government agencies or entities provided it contains a photograph or information such as name, date of birth, sex, height, eye color, and address.

Certification of Birth Abroad issued by the Department of State.

Unexpired Temporary Resident Card.

School I.D. card with photograph.

Original or certified copy of a birth certificate issued by a state, county, municipal authority or outlying possession of the U.S. bearing an official seal.

Unexpired Employment Authorization Card (INS Form I-688A)

U.S. Military card or draft record.

Unexpired employment authorization document issued by the INS (other than those listed under List A)

Unexpired Employment Authorization Document issued by the INS which contains a photograph (INS Form I-688B)

Military dependent's I.D. card.

 


We cannot accept facsimiles of these documents or copies (unless they are certified). All I-9's are to be completed in Human Resources on the first day of employment.
