2013 Abundant Life Wellness Program
Duration: February 2013 – December 2013
Who can participate?
All full, reduced full, and half time faculty and staff are eligible to participate in the Abundant Life program. By completing the Abundant Life Pledge Form, an employee’s spouse and children (up to age 25) can use the SRWC at no charge.
How to sign up
All current employees are given the opportunity at the beginning of the year to complete the Abundant Life Pledge Form online to participate in the Abundant Life program. By completing this online pledge form, you are agreeing to get the minimum amount of participation credits each month to receive a free membership to the SRWC. The deadline for all current employees to sign up for 2013 was 2/8/2013.
How do new employees sign up?
New employees are given a paper pledge and waiver form during their Benefits Enrollment training to complete. New employees are given 30 days from their date of hire to complete these forms and return them to the Human Resources office at ACU Box 29106. Once a new employee signs up, his/her faculty/staff ID card can be used to begin accessing the SRWC.
Family access to the SRWC
By participating in the Abundant Life program, an employee’s spouse and children (up to age 25) can use the SRWC at no charge. Each spouse will need to have an ID card made in The Depot (located in the McGlothlin Campus Center) and fill out a waiver form at the SRWC Member Services Desk to be granted membership. Dependents 18-25 years old will also need to have an ACU ID made at The Depot and fill out an Affiliate Membership Application Form and waiver at the SRWC Member Services Desk to be granted membership. Dependents under the age of 18 are only allowed to use the SRWC during Family Time and must be signed-in and accompanied by a parent at all times. Read more on Family Time.
Definition of “Abundant Life Participation Credit”
An employee earns a participation credit each time he or she slides their faculty/staff ID card in the card reader titled “Abundant Life Participation Credit.” By swiping his or her ID card, an employee is recording that he or she has participated in some kind of physical activity. There is no requirement on what kind of activity an employee must complete to receive a credit. An employee can run the track, walk on a treadmill, swim, go to a group exercise class, and much more.
Minimum Requirement
In order to maintain a free membership to the SRWC, an employee must complete a minimum of 10 participation credits each month. Failure to complete this requirement will result in one reminder email. The second time this requirement is not met, an employee will lose their free membership to the SRWC provided by Abundant Life. An employee could however sign up for a payroll deduction at that time to purchase his or her own membership to the SRWC.
