Recycling at ACU

The Environmental Recycling Center (ERC) picks up all recyclables and provides bags for paper recycling. For requests, please email recycle@acu.edu

Offices provide their own bins for other recyclables. WFF will supply bin liners (call x2579).

  • Paper (blue bags) - Put shredding in a trash bag (it must be recycled separately)
  • Cardboard (flattened) - Brown paper products are considered cardboard & waxed cardboard can't be recycled (e.g. juice cartons)
  • Plastics - Everything but Styrofoam
  • Aluminum cans
  • Batteries (on-campus battery option)
  • Glass
About the recycling program

In 2005, ACU entered into a recycling agreement with the City of Abilene and the ERC. The city is subsidizing the effort in an attempt to divert material out of the waste stream and into the recycling stream. Participation is open to everyone in the ACU community and a growing number of people are getting involved.
