Donor Recognition Programs

Each year, many who care deeply about ACU's future indicate their partnership through a gift of cash, securities, real estate, or personal property. Abilene Christian University is indebted to these supporters for their generosity and sacrifices. The following societies are ACU's way of saying "thank you!"

The President's Circle

The President's Circle was established in 1969 to bring together those who are the strongest financial supporters of ACU. A cumulative gift of $1,000 or more to any area of the university during the school year (June 1 - May 31) qualifies the donor for President's Circle membership. Members enjoy a unique schedule of benefits and special events as a token of the university's appreciation for their ongoing partnership. This program recognizes donors at various leadership levels of support each school year.

In 2003, ACU announced a new organization of this treasured society of supporters.  The membership time period has moved to a school year period of June 1 - May 31, and the membership levels were revised as follows:

Purple and White Circle $1,000 - 4,999
Bronze Circle $5,000 - 9,999
Silver Circle $10,000 - 49,999
Gold Circle $50,000 - 99,999
Platinum Circle $100,000 - 999,999
President's Forum Lifetime of $1,000,000 - 9,999,999
President's Roundtable Lifetime of $10,000,000 and above
Charter Members Life Members from 1969 - 2002

Don H. Morris Team

In 1996, more than 8,000 alumni and friends were honored as charter members of the Don H. Morris Team.  The team is named in honor of Don H. Morris, ACU's seventh president.  He guided the university through a time of tremendous growth by encouraging broad support at the grassroots level.

Morris affectionately called his wife "Team," as she was his most important partner in life.  The Annual Fund is the lifeblood of ACU, and all who support it are honored as being a part of the Morris Team.

The Don H. Morris Team recognizes all individuals who build the future of Abilene Christian University through gifts to the Annual Fund or Hope for the Future Scholarships.  Morris Team members who give $100 or more in one school year (June 1 - May 31) are recognized for various levels of support.

Team Players $100 - 249
Purple and White Team $250 - 499
Bronze Team $500 - 999
Silver Team $1,000 - 4,999
Gold Team $5,000 - 9,999

Heritage Society

The Heritage Society identifies, honors, and encourages alumni and friends of the university to participate in a long-range and often substantial gift to ACU.  The Heritage Society honors those who have included ACU in their estate plans.  This anonymous society is available to those who:

  • Include ACU as a beneficiary in his/her will.
  • Name ACU as the owner and beneficiary of a life insurance policy.
  • Name ACU as a beneficiary of a life income gift (a remainder trust, gift annuity, or lead trust).
  • Make a gift of a personal residence or farm to ACU with a life estate reserved.

For more information about becoming a member of the Heritage Society and estate planning, please contact the ACU Foundation.

Alumni Walk

The Alumni Walk recognizes graduating seniors who give at least $100 to their Senior Class Gift. Other alumni and friends can also purchase bricks for $100. The walk is a paved brick sidewalk with each particpant's name and class year engraved, located between the College of Biblical Studies Building and the McGlothlin Campus Center.  View a list of participants who have their names engraved on the Alumni Walk.
