Send Us Your Students!

Each year, ACU is blessed to receive many new students from across the United States and around the world.  The stories of how those students come to us vary widely.  Last year about one-third of our incoming freshmen were children or grandchildren of ACU alumni…..but that leaves two-thirds who don’t have that family connection.

You likely know top-quality, Christian students who are looking for a place like ACU to receive both an academic challenge and spiritual nurture.  Perhaps they attend church with you or live in your neighborhood.  They might be students where you teach or children of co-workers.  Your influence is so important!

There are some concrete things you can do to help bring students to ACU.  Here are just a few:

  1.  Recommend a student.  Complete the recommendation form online and tell us about this young person.  If a student does not already have ACU connections, we might not even know to recruit them.  This ensures that a student will hear from ACU.
  2. If you know that a student is exploring their college options, encourage them to browse on ACU’s admissions Web site.  The page for future freshmen includes links for applying online, chatting via instant messenger with an admissions counselor, finding out about financial aid, and scheduling a campus visit.
  3. Speaking of a campus visit. . . one of the best ways to ensure that an interested student enrolls at ACU is to make sure they come for an official campus visit. This allows them time to see our facilities, tour the campus and residence halls, visit chapel, visit with faculty and students in their areas of interest, and talk through their personal financial aid scenario with a counselor.  Perhaps you could be an ACU champion with your church’s youth group and bring a group of students to visit.  ACU has special days set aside for campus visits, called Purple Fridays and Purple Mondays, where visiting students are treated to a day of activities to help them get a feel for life at ACU.  In addition, Preview Weekends, which are scheduled at Homecoming and on Sing Song Weekend, can give a broader overview of campus life for potential students.  Or a student and their family can schedule an individual visit almost any time during the school year. To schedule a visit, call 1-800-460-6228.
  4. If it’s been a while since you’ve been on campus, check out the "About ACU" and "Quick Facts" pages on our Web site.  Share that information with friends and family - ACU provides an excellent educational value in a Christian atmosphere that is second to none.
  5. How about volunteering for ACU outreach to students?  ACU alumni and friends host Purple & White Parties, host recruiting dinners, work at College Night events, and write letters to prospective students.  To learn more, view the Volunteer Network page or contact one of our Alumni Outreach Officers.
Thank you for helping bring the next generation of Wildcats to ACU!  If you have questions or wish to talk with a representative in the Admissions Office, call 325-674-2765 or 800-460-6228.
